I was born and raised on Galveston Island, so I know the Island well. Previously I worked in banking. I worked my way from teller to Southwest Regional Trainer. After getting married, I switched careers and went into the Insurance field. I worked here for over 25 years and still maintain this license. I am experienced in both residential and commercial insurance, which makes me an asset when shopping for a home. I'm married and have a daughter that recently graduated from Texas A&M University. Once my daughter began college, I decided to go back to school and get my Real Estate License. It has been a very rewarding decision. I continue to educate myself and recently received my Certified Negotiation Expert designation. I absolutely love helping dreams come true.I believe in giving back to the community, I do this by my volunteer activities with the Galveston Noon Optimist Club and the Galveston Elks Lodge.I have served on the board of my neighborhood HOA board and was instrumental in overseeing the remodeling of our neighborhood park. I am highly motivated in the Real Estate market in Galveston County. I have bought and sold several homes, as well as managed my own vacation rental in Galveston since 2009. I moved to Houston in 1991, from Ohio, and spent 25 years in the Oil and Gas Industry working in Project Management and Finance. I retired and moved to Galveston in 2016. Leveraging my experience as a successful business owner and as a team player working with Fortune 500 companies, I am known for outstanding client service with 24/7 availability, high tech marketing techniques, and a skilled negotiator with my client's best interest at heart. I believe strongly that it is not only my duty to represent my clients to the best of my ability, but also to educate them through every step of the process armed with top notch information and market insight so my clients can make the best decisions possible. I am a firm believer in giving back and am passionate about several things, including animal rescue. I am a volunteer at the Galveston Humane Society and foster kittens and puppies for adoption, as well as being actively involved in the TNR program. I, also donate to Wounded Warriors and Shriner's Children's Hospital in Galveston. In my free time, I enjoy running, kayaking, walking the beach and social events, as a member of several committees on the Island.

Why do you enjoy being a real estate agent? There is nothing better than a satisfied client. Real estate is one of those professions where you know whether or not you've made a difference for someone right away. I enjoy introducing our coastal area to new residents and visitors, and I love helping people fulfill a dream.

What is the most challenging issue you face as a Real Estate Professional? Expectations. They are rarely in line with the realities of the market. There is so much media coverage on real estate these days. And all too often, the stories are irrelevant to the buyers/sellers in my area. Real estate markets are local in nature. I provide my clients with news and local market statistics that pertain to them.

Tell us one of your client success stories or an interesting moment in your profession. The years following Hurricane Ike were interesting to say the least. It was the first time a storm of that magnitude with that kind of destruction hit the island since 1900. At the same time, the mortgage industry imploded with the collapse of Lehman Brothers, and the country was in the early stages of a recession. What followed was a very unpredictable market for several years. It was an experience I don't think I will ever forget.
